Hi, I’m Akil.
My path into design wasn’t exactly planned. I started out making album covers for friends in high school, then took a brief detour into computer science in college before realizing I’d rather be creating than coding. That pivot led me to graphic design—and I haven’t looked back since.
I’m a Senior Designer focused on building brand identities from the ground up—everything from logos and visual systems to launch campaigns across print, digital, and motion. I enjoy taking messy, early ideas and shaping them into something clear, cohesive, and actually useful in the real world.
I think of myself as a hybrid—part strategic thinker, part hands-on designer. I care deeply about detail, execution, and pushing ideas further, whether through motion, systems thinking, or newer tools like AI.
I’ve had the chance to help build brands like Tower Federal Credit Union and Harvard Federal Credit Union, leading projects and collaborating closely with teams from concept through launch.
When I’m not designing, I’m probably hooping, working through a new piano piece, or reading a manga if not sci-fi novel (big Stephen King fan). Otherwise I'm working some new digital artwork that I share on Instagram.
